About Me

Hello, world!

My name is Anya, but my nickname's Prim. (They/them, please.) I was born and raised in the Greater Boston Area— in other words, I know the MBTA like the back of my hand. While I lived there, I studied Marketing Communications at Emerson College, plus a minor in Digital Media and Culture and a background in literary theory and philosophy via the Honors program. After graduating, I moved to New Haven to live with my partner, and I'm already absolutely loving it here.

In my still-short working life, I've found myself in fields ranging from event marketing to theater operations to podcasting to medical equipment services to Twitch stream moderation. You can learn more about my experience(s) here. Though I've got a lot on my plate right now, I'm always open to graphic design pitches! If you like my portfolio and want me on your project, feel free to send me an email and we'll see if I can take it on.

Outside of work, I enjoy making mashups, analyzing media, playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, seeing live music, and making art with any medium I can get my grubby little hands on. Whether you're here for professional or personal reasons, I'm excited to meet you!

My philosophy

Why am I using Neocities?

As of writing this (5/20/2024), Wix is under boycott, and I since I don't use products that overuse YouTuber sponsorships, Squarespace is also off the table. What better time than now to learn how to code?

What's the design on my homepage button?

A family of possums sleeping. I really relate to possums; even if they're a little bit weird, they're helpful little critters (they eat ticks, preventing the spread of lyme disease!), super hardy (they're resistant to rabies and snake venom), and they can quite literally carry a team.

Anya, a Taiwanese-American guy with chin-length brown hair and green glasses, stands against a wall of lush green leaves. They are smiling and holding their hands in their pockets. They are wearing a sleeveless black turtleneck and gray dress pants.
